Sullom Voe Terminal, Sullom Voe, Shetland

Sullom Voe Terminal, Sullom Voe, Shetland

A proposed redevelopment, located along the shoreline adjacent to the BP Sullom Voe Terminal, Sullom Voe, Shetland, included an existing jetty, RO-RO slipway, a lay down area and a section of the B9076 Sullom Voe Terminal perimeter road. On behalf of their client, Total E&P UK Ltd, Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical (Northern) Limited carried out an investigation (by the process of 4 boreholes drill, 17 road cores, soil sampling, in situ and laboratory testing) to establish both the likely settlement characteristics of the ground underlying the existing lay down area and also the ground conditions underlying and adjacent to the existing terminal perimeter road in terms of composition and California bearing ratio.
